On this page
The control labelled “Where this runs” sits under the message box, between Attach and the model. It has three choices.
The three choices
- Chat: the ordinary way to use Crossbox. It is the choice for a new chat and is always available.
- Your computer: runs the chat on a computer you have connected. It is available only when a computer is connected; otherwise it reads “No connected computer”.
- Cloud workspace: reads “Not set up yet”. Crossbox cannot set up a cloud workspace for a chat today.
Using your computer
- Connect a computer. If none is enrolled, Crossbox points you to Settings, Machines and devices.
- Keep the Crossbox app running on it. A computer that has not checked in recently does not count as connected.
- Start a new chat and choose Your computer. When it is available the choice shows the computer’s name.
If a choice is greyed out
An unavailable choice says why in its own words: no connected computer, a computer that is offline, or a cloud workspace that is not set up. See Troubleshooting.
