On this page

Crossbox is a chat. You write a message, a model you choose answers it, and what you ask for is kept in chats you can come back to. This page takes you from signing in to your first answer.

  1. Enter your email address on the sign-in page.
  2. Crossbox sends you a link and a six-digit code. Use the link, or type the code on the sign-in page.
  3. Use whichever you reach first: both work once, and both stop working after 15 minutes.

Send your first message

  1. After you sign in you land on the chat screen, headed “What can Crossbox do for you?”
  2. Click the message box (it reads “Ask Crossbox anything”) and type what you want.
  3. Press Enter to send. Press Shift + Enter to start a new line instead.
  4. Your message opens a new chat and you are taken to it; the answer appears there.

A chat that is not inside a project is a Personal chat. A project keeps its own chats and files together; you can start a chat inside a project from the project’s page.

The controls under the message box

Four controls sit under the message box, left to right. They are in the same order on the start screen and inside a chat.

  • Attach: adds files to a message. It works inside a chat; it is not available from the start screen (see Files and attachments).
  • Where this runs: Chat, Your computer or Cloud workspace (see Where it runs).
  • Model: which model answers your next message (see Choosing a model and intensity).
  • Intensity: how large a budget the model gets for a reply: Nano, Low, Medium, High, Extra High or Max.

Around the screen

  • The left rail has New chat and Search at the top, then your Projects and your Chats.
  • Search finds your earlier chats and projects.
  • Each chat’s title and a menu of actions for it (rename, share, archive and more) are at the top of the chat.
